Pre-PI intake manifolds

Can anyone tell me what intakes are available for '98 model SOHC? My plastic lower broke and I figured I would go ahead and upgrade. Also, if you recommend the FRPP intake, who has the best prices, because $2k is awful steep for an intake.

If you need a used one, I've got one of a 96 stang w 66,000 miles... I don't know that there's really any aftermarket intakes for pre-pi heads, but wadda I know.

You have similar mods to me. What did you dyno at? I'm at 280 rwhp with stock heads.

Hey lopey.

I'm not sure, I had it done for about a week, but either a miscalibrated computer or bad injector caused a piston to burn, and score my cylinder wall! The thing did pull like a raped ape when it did though. I'll trade ya motors though, ported heads and all!

After I get the motor back together, I'd like to get a chip burned for it and get a dyno to see my numbers and check the A/F ratio

Check out this thread for someone who made adapter plates to mate the PI intake onto NPI heads. It's expensive for what it is, but is certainly much cheaper than the SVO. If you choose to go this route, don't forget to post up your impressions.

My Non-PI intake cracked in the water crossover and started leaking coolant. There is a Tech service bulletin out there concerning this. Brandon Ford here in Florida replaced my intake with one that looks EXACTLY like the PI intake. It has an aluminum coolant channel anyway.
The best part is that the entire job took only one day and was completely free.

The invoice shows the intake kit part number as FMC F6SZ 9424 AA
