What is the Factory HP tune in Predator?

A tune without any changes.

Basically the same as your factory one. It's there if you want to change nothing but rear end ratio for gears, or if you want to change nothing but rear O2 sensor test, or whatever. Everything is like the stock tune but you can change the same parameters as you can with the Performance Tune.

so this is a copy of the back up that you can tweek or a seperate version of the ford factory tune?

yup and you can adjust the gear ratio so your speedometer wont be off

has anybody compared the settings on the factory tune to the settings on the performance tune?

The Performance Tune is better.

Seriously, I tried to hunt that down. DiabloSport won't release it. They consider it proprietary. Trade secrets. <roll eyes>

i was poking around the factory tune yesterday (inside the diablo menus, didnt hack the thing or anything like that), looking at how it the settings from the factory were different from the performance tune. fan settings were different and shift points were different but spark advance was unchanged, tq modulation was also unchanged. didnt get a chance to poke around inside the fuel settings.

does that sound right? I mean that the spark advance in the predator tune would be unchanged from the factory settings?

One tune can have x degrees of timing. The Predator will let you add 10% or subtract 40% to that. Another tune can have y degrees of timing. The Predator will let you add 10% or subtract 40% to that. Both tunes will look the same as far as you see on the handheld unit.

Other items like Fan On/Off will show the actual temp and let you raise or lower it. Timing and a/f use tables so there's no easy way to display the whole table and let you adjust it.

If you want to know the differences on the a/f and timing, between the datalog both tunes. Make sure the car is up to oprating temp, and datalog spark, and lambse. Lambse will be your commanded (not actual) a/f ratio. If you want to see how far your tune is off, you can also datalog kamrf which will be your correction values. If the tune is perfect, your kamrf values will be "1" but should be between 1.15 and 0.85
