Prep work is the hardest part. Having painted my car, I can tell you that it's a LOT of work. It's also the most important part of the paint job. If you haven't got much money, consider doing it yourself and taking a community college class. I know a few guys locally who have taken a painting class and their rides turned out awesome. Only cost around $200 per term and you get to use all their equipment. Plus you get a professional watching over your shoulder.
After you do it yourself once, you'll understand why a full paint job costs so much money...
Anyway, I didn't answer your question, but hopefully you'll consider the community college route. Something to think about anyway...
