I wanted to do an all around tune up, What all do you think I should do ?

I have a 2004 GT and it has about 42k miles already.

Well it depends on what you've already done I suppose, but at that mileage, I would do an oil/filter, fuel filter, plugs, coolant flush. I probably wouldn't bother with anything else. Your car is just barely a toddler now

Oh, and just to make you feel a little worse about your mileage, my '04 has just barely 9,000 on the odo.

Yes, you can. It is much easier than an automatic too.

Did you do what I posted in that thread?

Stang|ess said:
Air filter, bleed your brakes, flush your coolant, also read this, and this in regards to flushing your coolant. Fuel filter, inspect your brakes, tires, hoses for wear and tear, and tranny fluid

Use Royal Purple Synchromax, or GM Synchromesh for your tranny.

Don't touch the plugs, being that they're good for 100,000 miles.

ohh man, i forgot that i even posted that thread...yeah still have not gotten around to it.

But i just graduated from school on the 30th so once i quit my job this month or next month i should have more time and i will be able to do all of this on my own.

I just want to buy all the stuff in advance that way i dont have to run back up to the auto parts store 1/2 through the job....

That always sucks when you forget something.

Damn stangless, how the heck did ou remember this post? i didnt even remember the thread till i read it!!!!!!!

also, for the coolent, just one bottle of coolent, 1 bottle of water wetter and some H2O ?

and is it worth it to get a 180* T-Stat?

i still have to do my coolant sometimes. But ya I would change all your fluid and fuel filter, oil filter.

I wouls also check your acc belt, and idler pully. My belt looked like poo when i changed it at 30000miles, and pully was making noise. Pully, and belt were pretty cheap(>$30 for Belt, and >$20 for Pully)
