Bright Blue,

Are you concerned making 450hp?? On stock internals are you worried you snapping a connecting rod?? Im getting ready for a KB install, and I will be getting the 6-14 lb Intercooled kit. I'm hoping to only need about 8-9 lbs of intercooled boost to get to 400 HP(gotta have that magic number. I got Comp Cam 274AH's going in next week, so I should be able to glup a little more air than most.

Nope, but you should always be prepared for breakage. I've got 67K on the stang, and 12K since the KB install. I don't beat it, but I do play hard and run it on the track at times. After 12K miles with the 9# pullie the motor still seems strong... which I cannot say for the tired POS T-45 tranny.

At 9, maybe ever 11 #'s you should be just fine for up to 450rwhp, unless you beat the crap out of it, in which case forging is not even going to be a question.

Thanks for the info....Would it be worth the money to get the intercooled kit? The 03+ Cobras don't have an intercooler right?

I'm with Bright Blue and El Kid. Definately get the intercooled kit if you can. I went with all of the options as well....Just got it on last Monday and it was well worth it. For a safe set up (the temperature needle never goes past 1/4 way now) that will snap your neck when you romp on it, the KB can't be beat.

i don't know alot about superchargers but...

I would think the KB for the gt ( i think its only 1.7 liters or something like that) wouldn't flow enough air for a 5.4. You would be better off with the 2.2 liter they are coming out with.

i thought they were making a 2.4 liter?? but yea that might be an issue. thanks.

i am not positive about the displacement, just saying the bigger blower would be better for a 5.4

KB all the way...but wait for the 2.2L GT kit so you can build up a block and push 25-26 psi boost

2.2L is what im hoping for. Also one way to justify the 1000 increase over a vortech, besides torque curve, is the fact that the KB also replaces your entire intake. So no need to buy a bullit intake.
