Once again , you guys and gals here really seem to know your stuff, so here is my latest question:

With the 05 being all new, what do ya'll surmise are good prices for the current 04 gt & v6's coupes, not verts?

Also I've been eyeing a "ford factory certified" used Mustang that has been on the local dealers lot for over a month.

It is a 03 gt cloth & auto (like i like both!) with less than 13k. They have a "sticker" of $18,900 with an extended 6yr/60k powertrain warranty included. Even I know this is high but what would be reasonable?

With a 04 I know i can get 0% or 3g's back with 4.9%
and with the 03 i get 4.9%

Thanks for the time and opinoins

Would $20k be too much to pay for an almost loaded, brand new 2004 GT. It is Charcoal Gray with Leather, ABS, Traction Control, Mach460 Audio, 5-speed manual, Fog Lights, Premium Wheels.

If I read your post correctly, you want cloth and an auto. I was the same way. There was no way I was getting leather and a stick-shift. I had to look everywhere to find a GT like that. Finally I found exactly what I was looking for, so I got it. What I'm saying is that you may have to pay a little extra to get what you want. Even so, I think that is a good price. Good luck!

You could probably do better than 20K. There is a brand new convertable GT for sale near me for $20,895. That is with a military discount of $750 so its a little more but if a convertable is that low you could probably get a coupe for a couple thousand less. The only thing is the convertable is a 2003 left over so for an '04 it would be a little more. Also, the MSRP on it is $29,875.

Do you know how well equipped that Vert GT is?

It is a 5spd manual with 6-disk changer. I called the dealer asking about it and I think it has leather and is red with a black top. Sometimes they are wrong over the phone so I'm not sure. Here is a link to the ad for it:

According to forddirect.com it is white with the charcoal interior and a black roof. It has the premium trim, leather, ABS/TC, MACH460 sound system, convertible dust boot cover and all the other little power amenities.

Sticker is $29,875, X-Plan is $27,750.56 so they must be subtracting the rebates from the invoice. I can't imagine anyone going much lower than that!

Now they also have a 2003 black GT vert with med parchment interior as well. The only difference between it and the one above, besides the colors, is this one has the interior upgrade package as well as the centennial package which drives the sticker up to $31,015.

Hope that helps you out a little.

Yes, they are giving away the 03/04's. My local Ford dealer has 5- 03 GT's, 10- 04 GT's, 2- 03 Mach's and 2- 04 Mach's, 2- 03 Cobras, and 2- 04 Cobras. They also have a bunch of V-6's. They have some awesome deals. I looked at an 04 Cobra vert, bright red, I got them down to $30K out the door with tax and registration, this was last month. But we needed a new family car so we got the 04 Passat wagon. That Cobra is still there and they will probably take less for it. My buddy picked up and 04 Mach 1 for $24K about two weeks ago. The trick is hold back, the dealer gets back $2-3K from Ford for every car they sell.

Hey where were you getting a new cobra vert offered to you for under 30K out the door? Thats a pretty darn good deal for a 04.....I would have been jumping on the deal and I'll even let you get the $50 that the dealerships give out to bring someone in lol.

I got my '04 GT in December for $21,000, It's fully loaded, only thing that could have been added would have been the Mach 1000 sound system!

It was in CT. I bought my first two Cobra there from the same salesman who is now the sales manager for and SVT manager too, whatever that means. My brother also bought his Cobra there. So I had that advantage which I will discuss further. MSRP: $40K, dealer invoice was $35K. The way he broke it down for me was like so, I could have the car for $100 over invoice, which came out to $35,974.81, then there were exactly $6K in Ford rebates and incentives which go straight to the dealer pocket from FoMoCo. That brought cost down to $29,974.81, then they took $1,000 out for being such a good customer and and because I was paying cash for the car, which brought it down to $28,974.81 plus 6% CT sales tax, title and registration, grand total was $30,913.30 out the door. But the wife's 2001 A4 got stolen, and when they found it all that was left was basically the shell, so I took the insurance money and some of my money and we bought a 04 Passat V-6 auto, 4 motion, very nice car. Great performance, style, comfort and safety is 5 stars across the board, and IIHS top performer for offset crash. But that crushed the Cobra deal for now. Unless I sell one of the other two Cobra's, I will have to wait until the 2006 or maybe by the end of this year if things go well.

I would go look on my own I guess I'm just afraid of showing up at the dealership , if I see it, if I drive it, if I get a decent deal. I know I'll buy it.

I just don't know if after I just payed off mine if its worth getting into debt for another 15K+ for a cobra when a new bodystyle is out in a few months or I could just supercharge mine with the money in the bank and won't have payments.....but the cobra vert

I know the GT Vert premium pkg only comes with Auto ( that might have only been 2003) so it must be a GT Deluxe you are looking at

Yeah, I bought my 93 brand new when I was 21 it cost $21K. By the time I paid it off, I was married with a mortgage and in Grad school. I had a bunch of old cars, see my sig, but those aren't costing me anything. I was driving a beater 86 VW golf as my daily driver and my wife had a 91 Blazer she inherited from here parents. We were planing kids and what not, so we needed a new car. It was 1997, I paid off the 93 a year early, so we went down to the Ford dealer with intentions of buying a new Explorer or something. We saw the 97 Cobra, its a coupe, bright red with black leather, I had my teal 93 but I wasn't going to trade that in, well long story short, we ended up picking up the 97 Cobra for $24K out the door. A month later the Blazer s**t the bed, so we picked up a 95 Explorer and then in 2000 we bought a new 2001 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro and by that time we had kids and what not, but then 2004 history repeats itself, but this time no Cobra. So, I'm not disappointed, I have my two Cobras and love them, plus I have all my other junk. Now I have an 85 Audi 4000 S quattro to drive everyday which is cool too.

well, they have alot of left over 03, but by 05 I would imagine there would be some leftover 04, and I'm sure you could get one for 27K, read back to one of my post, and see the deal I had on an 04 convertible.

But probably doesn't have the Mach 1000, the interior upgrade package, and the bright wheel options.
