I will be getting one in the next 2 weeks or so, and was wondering what kind of price do you think i can get it for. I mean i know the new stangs are coming out, so i figured not that many people would be buying cobra's. Therefore i was wondering if it would be possible to get the dealer down to like 28,000. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Also what is the procedure for getting a new car (this is my first time, if you cant tell) do they usually have it in stock, or would they most likely have to order it? I am sure this is dealer specific, but i was just wondering. If they did have to order it, what would be the wait time. 1 week? 1 month? etc...

Anyhelp would be great THANKS!

P.S. I want a black one

well do a lot of research first, i suggest www.edmunds.com for some information. also, they aren't making any more SVT's for now, so you will basically have to take whatever the dealers have in stock.

now for pricing, i've yet to see a dealership around here drop below 30k for a new one. they all say "well there won't be any SVT's for 2 years so if people want them, they'll pay full price". Hopefully that isn't the situation where you are, and hopefully you can negotiate. Something I learned over the course of buying 2 cars in 18 months from dealerships, is that the bigger the down payment, the better off you are and the higher the negotiating position you have. Act like you're gonna pay cash and don't bring up trade in stuff until the price has been agreed upon.

I would say there is no way you are getting one for less than $30K. If you can find a leftover 03' and they are having a special, you may be able to do
it for $30K. All the new 04's sticker for around 36K. A dealership I visited last
week had a leftover 03' for $30,650 on a special one day offer, too bad it was
yellow or I would have gobbled it up. The car did not sell. You will have a hard time getting them to knock off more than $500-$1000 bucks off the
sticker. Lots of people want these cars and most of what you see on the lots
are all they are getting. I got the dealership to knock off $800 off the sticker
when I bought mine on Saturday. Good Luck. :nice:

Well if the money is an issue, don't be hung up on getting a brand new one. An 03 with low miles can be had for 28,000. I still see some on the lots you just have to look. I mean as long as you have the factory warrenty, you should be good. It's always nicer to get one brand new, but a used one can save you some cash.

alot of people don't know; but if u know someone that is a retiree from ford u get a G off the car. And if u know a retiree u might as well get the a-plan but as far as rebates on '04// none.
best way to go as far as saving some $ get an '03; if its a particular color and u got pleanty of $ get '04.

if u need more info e-mail / or go to svtperformance.com great place for info on the '03/'04.

I just bought one here in San Diego. I did the power lease and Mossy Ford had a 2500 discount off of MSRP.
yea BUT you leased the car, not bought it. i dont think mossy would knock that much off the car if you were planning buying it.
