Ive tried the Pro 5.0 handle, then the MGW then the Tria-ax and the Tri-ax on the Pro 5.0 shifter is the way to go. Longer than the 5.0 but not as long as the MGW. It bolts right up.

Agreed with 2001 Geee T - Steeda handle on the Pro 5.0 shifter is a great combo. I couldn't imagine breaking the Tri-Ax handle...yeah, I know it's aluminum...but if you break it, it's probably better than breaking the internals. I bang some gears, but damn, it'd take some serious banging to break it.

Seems pretty simular to the steeda...you will LOVE it. It looks like steel...how heavy is it? The one thing bad I have heard about the steeda is that it has broken on one person one cold morning, just shifting into reverse or something....you would have to be superman just to bend that thing LOL. Be assured that your tranny would be destroyed if you shifted hard enough to break or bend it....if thats a good thing.

It probably weighs about a pound or maybe a little under. (I'm comparing it to a 20oz bottle of Pepsi right now for an idea, and it weighs less than that). I've seen the Steeda handle and I think someone would have to really beat their tranny on a 15 degree (F) day to snap that puppy.

I'll let you know how it goes! The Stang hasn't been driven for almost 12 days now, since the weather has been so nice--been riding the new Suzuki Boulevard instead.

Help! I cannot find my allen wrench set, so I'm going to have to buy a specific one so I can get this handle swapped asap. I think it's 8mm.
What size is the allen wrench required to remove those two Pro5.0 bolts? PLEASE!

get the adjustable mgw handle

You can't mount the MGW handle on the PRO 5.0 shifter as the PRO requires a bolt through designed handle. The MGW handle is made for the MGW shifter which has a solid round shifter mount. The handle wraps around the shifter and gets tightened with a couple of allen screws. This allows the shifter handle to be positioned 360 degrees if you wish but I find the most desireable is at the seven o'clock position. It is an awesome shifter and I love mine, and I can finally make use of that front cup holder!

Well, it was 6mm. Called Joe at Pro 5.0 directly and he advised. Duh, never occurred to me to call him.

Anyway, the handle swap was a quick 5 minute, 1 beer ordeal. I banged through some gears afterward and the reach is much, much better. I'll be sending the shorty back asap.

Thanks for the insights and opinions, all!
