Just finished installing my new Pro 5.0, love the way it shifts, problem is i'm only 5'8", now i have to lean over to the right just a bit to do some shifting. Question is has anyone put a Steeda handle on a Pro 5.0? What advantage would be gained from it? will it even fit? i understand the handle is a little taller and angled back just a bit. where's the cheapest place to purchase it?Thanks in advance.

If your 5' 8" your going to have to give that shifter to me. It is only for 6' 0" or taller people. Just kidding I know UPR products sells just the shift handle and it is around 30 bucs. It is also high quality aluminum.

Did you mount it on the right or the left? If you mount it on the left, it's obviously a little closer to you and may help some

I installed mine today too, and I had a question. When I change gears, it feels like I hit a wall right before it slips into gear. When I'm at stop, it's as smooth as can be, but when I'm runnin it, there is this half second hesitation before it goes into gear.. anyone got any idea?

The bolts are set up right, and the it does shift, so it's not out of position... Just a hesitation..

I just put my Pro 5.0 in a few weeks ago with the Steeda tri-ax shifter handle because I'm also 5'8". Now I have the best short throw shifter combined with the best handle out there. It doesn't get any better, just mount it on the driver side closer to you and it bolts on with out any modification or changes. It also leaves a little more space for the boot so it isn't so scrunched up. I bought mine from North Coast Performance out of Rochester, NY for only $26.95 and they didn't even charge me shipping which may have been a mistake. Go to www.nthcoast.com/steeda.html for a look. Good luck!

That's how our trannies were I thought? Stock was like that too.

BTW, I've got an MGW handle, it's awesome. It's totally adjustable.

Yup, dude yours is probably ok. When the tranny is under load it is harder to shift.

I've been telling a lot of people about the kona racing handle at www.konaracing.com. It's cheap, gets the shifter closer and hasn't broken yet (and that's saying alot, by the way I shift ) Just click on "Comparison" for before and afters in all six gears.

I don't work for or get kick backs from these folks or anything(beer would be nice tho'). They are not very well known, probably a mom-and-pop business, and have provided me with a bitchin' product. Gotta support those American small businesses! The job you save might be your own!

I'm looking for a shifter in the next week or so and my question is why buy the pro 5.0 and add the steeda handle for another $30.00 when you can just buy the steeda shifter in the first place?? What is better about the 5.0 that would make you buy it over the steeda ?
