I’m looking at a pro charger for my 2001 cobra. I haven’t made any modifications to the engine internally. My question is how much boost could the engine sustain? I’m not looking for all out power and was looking at the HO kit which is 6 psi max which sounds good enough to me. Would that be ok for the time being? One day I plan on pulling the engine then rebuild with better internals or get another engine and slowly build it till the current engine is done. Thanks guys

Modular motors respond very well to boost. Low boost is safe as long as you have a good dyno tune.

That's what I keep hearing about these motors and the cobra isn't a daily driver and would love to put some boost on it but keep it modest so I won't have to replace the engine soon after. Does anyone know of good dyno shops in VA? If going with small boost pro charger isn't a good idea long term I may look into finding another engine and build it over time for boost but if I can get away with a small number I would rather go that route

I’ve decided to move forward with the pro charger and keep boost relatively low but first plan to update fuel delivery by upgrading to 42lb injectors and a 255 walboro fuel pump. Also researched that the mass airflow would need to be upgraded as well. #1 Does anyone have recommendations on which meter to get? #2 I took a quick look around the intake and didn’t not see the mass airflow sensor and I have not opened up the wheel well to see it’s in there with filter but I’m assuming the 2001 cobra has a mass airflow sensor correct?

Talk to your dyno tuner and see if they have a preference for a type of MAF / recommendations for your fuel system based off your goals.

It’s tough being in va cause there’s slim to none that do any kind of dyno in Southwest va but I did find someone over the weekend and got the info I needed and decided to go with the vortech v2 instead of the pro charger after comparing the two
