I'm awaiting your next article. Along with flow numbers, are you going to include actual installation regarding things like pushrod length, rocker arm requirements etc.? That is, those small things for which forewarning is so useful. Thanks in advance.

I think D.S.S. is offering them as a head option on their Long Blocks. You might want to give them a call for more info.

I saw that and I was thinking on ordering their 306 long block for 3200. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a good deal to me. Are you planning on running a power adder at some point? If so I might opt for the h-beam rods and severe duty rings If I were you. I don't know how much more that would add to the price tag.

The new MMFF has part ? of their cylinder head test and they have dyno numbers for 215cc heads on a 418. They did very well considering that they were going up against some very expensive cnc ported heads.

Also, Pro Topline has lots of different CNC ported chevy heads available, so ported ford heads are very likely.

The magazine also tested a set of the new Jegs heads and they did well also, but I don't think they are very practical with their unique valve covers and relatively high price.

Yes......I'll be covering ALL parts I use for assembly including part numbers, prices, and where I got them. There won't be a direct correlation for most on the pushrods as I run a flat tappet cam.

We've got our independent flow data on the 180s finally. Big thanks to Modern Cylinder Head

They did quite well I think. Hit 260 by .500".

Yea I talked to the machine shop today and he said the bank closed them down. Some company is looking into buying the place I guess. The machine shop have bought a few pairs of the heads and said the tolerances are way off from head to head. He's seen 2cc difference in the c.c. Springs heights vary. He said if you buy any make sure someone checks them over good. Has any body else seen this with the heads???

I'll be doing my spring setup/install possibly this weekend so I'll be taking notes on install heights as I go.

As far as volumes vs advertised the continuation of our Part II article is posted. We take a closer look at port measurements, volumes, etc.

headers and plug clearence on Top Proline iron heads ?

Hello,

I'm new to that Forum, so let me introduce myself. I live in France and own a 1966 Mustang convertible that runs 13s and a 1968 Fairlane 500 Fastback that I'm turning into a NASCAR replica. I'm an engineer by trade and work in the automotive industry.

For the Fairlane, I bought a 408W crate engine with Top Proline heads. I have trouble fitting headers and spark plug wires on these heads, since the spark plugs are very close to the headers tubes. Any idea what to use ?
