Problem w/convertable top

I have an 03 GT with top problems, every time I open or close the top it moves very slowly and makes all kinds of groaning noises. Its gotten to the point that I am afraid to open it for fear of not being able to close it again. Does this sound like the pump/motor needs to be replaced, or is there something that can be lubricated to correct the problem?
If the motor/pump needs to be replaced how do I go about it?

How long is too long? Is the noise coming from the motor or the framework? There is a hydraulic fill plug on the motor (located behind the rear seat). If there is air in the lines it will be noisy and most likely slow.

Top it off with multi purpose ATF to the bottom of the fill hole.

Hi,

Do you have any leaks? I had a hydraulic ram seal go on mine and lost loads of fluid and it sounded like crap. So I replaced the ram and topped up the fluid and it's been good since apart from the leaking water in the back
