Hi,

I was wondering if somebody can help me with some feedback on my mustangs current problem. It seems to hesitate a lot lately at picking up speed and today going around 70-75 mph the check engine light blinks for a little bit. After a while when i start going a lower speed like 65 it goes away, but when i downshift to 4th gear and accelerate back up to 70-75 it starts blinking again and i feel the hesitation. My car has 94K miles and the IAC valve has already been replaced about 2 years ago. The problem doesn't seem to be like the problem i had with the IAC. What could this be?

A blinking SES light indicates a random misfire is occuring. This would support your feeling of hesitation etc.

At 94,000 miles, have you ever looked at the spark plugs? Have they ever been out of the engine? You may have a bad plug (or two, or three), a COP (coil on plug, the black thingy atop the plugs) or even a crank position sensor on the way out. I'd suggest checking the condition of the plugs getting a code reader on it to help narrow down which cylinder(s) are having issues.

+1 to the COP, plugs, and fuel filter. Also, go ahead and change the PCV valve if your Stang has one. My bet though is a COP.

Mustang02GT, do you happen to have underdrive pulleys on the car?

If so, you may need to verify the crankshaft bolt is properly torqued. If it isn't the timing reluctor wheel in behind the timing cover won't be as secure as it needs to be and causes the crankshaft position sensor to send a noisy signal to the PCM, which the PCM interprets as a misfire.
