Problem with Ricers

i almost never street race, but i will own a ricer from time to time. i usually let them hit it and have a good second or 2 at full throttle and then i blow by them like they're standing still. something about me passing them at 5k with my slp's screaming says F-YOU

Down here most imports are European, and the only JDM one's that are in high numbers are STI's/EVO's

Honeslty, they provide me with entertainment and have saved me on multiple occasions from a loud exhaust ticket.

around me (south florida) nothing but honda's and acura's riced out nothing to be impressed about, they will rev it to like 7k as they pass me, i usaully baby my car, shifting at 3-3.5K, the last time i brought it to the redline, a kid i a prelude tryed to race me i let him get to about the front of my car then let it have it in 2nd, i screamed past his window, he wouldnt even come up next to me after that

Ricers only rev at me when they're going in the opposite direction.

Over here in central CT, ricers are plentifull, and they are all the same. Talk smack about real cars, atempt burnouts in store parking lots, try to "drift" their civic by pulling the ebrake (cuz that is the way to do it to truely be cool,) drive around with half their car one color, and the other half whatever color their "body kit" came in, have loud @$$ mufflers that sound like s**t, and try to race ANYTHING in sight.

They rev their engines until they bounce off the rev limiter all the time at me when they see me, apparently looking for my approval of their s**tty @$$ car. Almost like when a baby cries to its parents to get attention. That a pretty good analogy I guess.

Oh, and by the way, its because of them that we have these ridiculous exhaust laws and everything else, so dont be gratefull they are stealing Johnny Laws attention away from you.

That's pretty much my sentiment race-stang.

No it's because of people like me that we have the exhaust laws

Seriously though, the noise ordanances were the only place the hippies and tree huggers could hit us without the SEMA lawyers being able to prevent it. I honestly don't think it had anything to do with ricers. They just happened to become more frequent about the same time the laws were finally passed.

They passed one here in CO statewide a while back, in turn the State had to go back and change it because thousands of bikers were going to bypass CO on their way to Sturgis because of it. They still have the law, but it's based on time of day vs decible level and only truly enforced in town. Though I'm sure the random car gets nailed for excessive exhaust tone on the freeway from time to time in addidtion to another infraction.

My ricer story (of many, but this tops it).

Mustang Week 2006. Saturday night, the big SVT cruise in/show.

The darkness had started to fall upon us, so everyone was packing up to leave or was starting to leave allready.

Out on the highway infront of the mall where the show is at, this turd brown SCREAMING Honda Accord, early 1990's model to be exact, goes fart-cannoning and NASTY NASTY NASTY (in a bad sense) bumping its sound system. Literally, body panels rattling.

So he spots a group of oh, 3-400 Stangers (would have been over 1k a few hours ago) and decides to raise some hell.

He comes nearly redlining into the parking lot, circles around once. Stops for a breif second... both the passenger AND driver flip their doors open.

WTF?

Next comes the gawd aweful system playing some hiddeous rap song, rattling every pane of glass, nut and bolt on this car.

They then proceed to throw thier FLASHERS on a ride a high speed victory lap around the group of Mustangs... fart cannon screaming, doors still open.

I have never, ever, seen such a ridiculous sight. Nothing cant explain it perfectly except for being there.

When I tell you almost everyone either laughed their kidneys out, or flipped these kids off, best beleive it.

No respect for ricers. I get them nagging me in my Mustang and in my Jeep. Any modified vehicle is just a moving target for them. You can have a "Ford" sticker on your back glass and they see "I fawked your mom and your sister, tonight is your girlfriend, come race me."

Hate em.

yeah, i live in Fontana, home of the Ghetto (early 90's) civics and integras.....i know what you mean bro...but like you said, it does keep cops busy and off our ass...hahah, hopefully when i someday join the force, id love to mess with imports all the f'n time.
