Problem with short belt

This past week I removed my smog and a/c stuff and ran a short belt. Problem is today I've shredded three belts and still don't know what's wrong. The belt seems to walking off the crank pulley (away from the engine) and the lip on the crank pulley is shredding the belt. At first I thought the belt was too long (81.7") so I got an 81" belt and just barely got it on with the tensioner unloaded the whole way. What else could be causing this?

Also my battery light is on and CEL (gonna get a code scanner tomorrow).

Hmmm. Very weird. On both the 95's I have owned I have bypassed the smog pump but not the AC. You running UD pullies as well? If you didnt change pullies everythig should still be lined up correctly. Sounds like somethings not lined up correctly. Find something w/a straight edge and see where the problem is.
