As mentioned in another thread I wrote about finally getting my g-force t5. It's running great, but the guys at Mike Reed's Aamco (in Bakersfield) have warned me that my tri y headers are running way too close to my clutch cable.

Anyone know a good quick cheap fix for this delima or do I have to get new super comps and a whole new exhaust???

Eric,

One of the other guys on the forum was using this. Check it out. I am going to order it this week.

Mike

Keep in mind the cable is a steel cable running in a plastic coated steel sheath. I can see you melting the plastic cover put I doubt you'll damage anything else. Summit racing has some 1" ID thermo tec thermal sleeving that should do the trick. $15.88 for a 3 foot roll. Page 83 of the current summit catalog

:stupid:
i have had my cable touching the headers for over a year and a half now and haven't had a problem. if you want, get some header wrap (non sticky), and put that on the part of the cable that will touch the header.
