I just installed a new aod. This tranny is totaly built and has a 4r70w gearset. The shift pattern has been changed. It shifts like a 3 speed and goes into od when you go below half throttle. The problem is that its not shifting into overdrive. It shifts fine in the od position for the first 3 gears but never shifts to od. The same when i shift manualy. Any thoughts?

I doubt his has one of those electric OD cutouts...maybe the shift point for the OD is too high.

The 4R70W gearset changes the shift schedualing to be pretty messy unless you mod the VB correctly or use a manual vb.

As for No od...I would suspect the TV cable is too tight or your od servo is leaking/not engaged properly.

If the TV cable checks out fine, then it might be the OD servo, like mentioned. When installed, sometimes the servo end misses the notch on the OD band. And OD won't engage. If this is the case, sorta easy fix, if you are familiar with valve body removal, and removing the OD servo. If not the ATSG manual with help tremendously. That way can check the seals also.

I fixed it thanks guys. The nylon bushing on the TB broke in peices. I went to ford got a new one and readjusted the TV cable and its fine.

Here is a link to the trans. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MEGA...047830290QQcategoryZ33727QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The guy is local to me so i just picked it up. I didn't use his converter i bought a TCI super street fighter with anti ballooning plate and i also installed a TCI hardened input shaft. So far i'm happy with it this thing hits hard. Thanks again guys.
