Anyways, if it's an '04, just take it in and have them fix it.

Secondly, if you're concerned about rising coolant temps, you should get an aftermarket gauge if you haven't already.. relying on the stocker is a no-no. It won't even move past operating temp unless you're already overheated.

Took it in twice for this while it was still under warantee. First they said they could not recreate the problem. Second time they said they could not recreate the problem and that it was probably caused by my U/D pulleys.
Now I got 39K, so I can no longer count on getting such quality service for free.

Secondly, I have also monitored temp with my Predator. Never seen it get over 194F.

Problem not fixed.

I give up. Guess I'm gonna take it to the shop. Hesitation started again today on the way home from work. Pulled over and got my Predator out and plugged it in to start logging some data. Problem stopped. At least for awhile. This is one of the characteristics of this problem. If I shut engine off and start it back up, the problem goes away for awhile. This is why I think it's something electrical at this point.

I guess I will try replacing the IAC.

In for a dime, in for a dollar.

Stock plug wires? My mark VIII gave quite a fight in hot weather. I changed plug wires and hesitation problems solved. But make sure you clean the MAF with a cleaner for electrical components. Try radio shack, they would have the cleaner.

Um, if you read the entire thread you will notice that I already replaced MAF after cleaning it previously.
Also, no plug wires or distributor cap on the newer cars. They have a "coil on plug" now.

Haven't been able to get one anywhere local. Ordered it from Ford. I took mine off this weekend. It was really dirty. I wiped some of the carbon deposits out and put it back on. Problem actually got worse! So, maybe this is it. I guess we'll see what happens when I replace it later this week.

Got a new IAC valve from Ford today. Just waiting for the car to cool off so I can slap it on!

I did reset the PCM. Thanks anyway for your help. Now I'm off to the shop, before a put a bullet in it.

This problem is more that just a slight hesitation or lack of power. It's big time jerking and sputtering. Plus, if I keep driving it after the problem starts and keep pushing it, it starts throwing codes about misfires.

I've had the car for two years and I know how it should act when it's hot out.

Dang thats jacked up. You could have been putting all tha cash into mods and then you would find the problem when you replaced it with a better part lol. err, it almost sounds like a spark problem, you did gap the plugs at .054 right? the preditor isnt advancing the timing too much down low is it? that will cause part throttle bucking. Check to see how tight your TB is to your plenum, and also see if the plenum bolts are snug...check all vaccume hoses.

Im wondering if your water temp sensor is bad...that should regulate fan on/off temps, the whole 9 yards. A HOT motor will not run correctly...very possable.

how much timing are you running on the predator? generally when its too advanced there will be problems so try retarding the timing on the predator.
~also~
and i say hike it up to 93 octane

check your sparkplugs if you havent already.
