I have been wondering what I was doing wrong. I know I am suppose to take a piece off of the bracket that goes on for the a/c. Well, after spending about 5 minutes looking at it I figured out that this isn't a mustang bracket! (or atleast one that anyone else has). this is the bracket that I see everyone else has:

Mine does not separate at all. it is one solid piece. Anyone else have this problem? anyone know where I can get the one ring piece I need?

Don't flame me for this as it's not related to your question, but did your factory a/c system have any studs that held the bracket on near the top?

AC delete moves the PS pump up from it's location. You don't need that big bracket on the left.

kinda hard to explain but it had another braket that curved over the top and then had a piece that braced it that shot down diagonally to the other bracket.

I know this. I don't think you understand what I am saying. My a/c bracket looks nothing like the first picture. It is all one huge piece. in the second picture you can see 2 bolt holes on the bottom left (of the picture) this is where the bottom of the a/c bolted to. You can see the pulley on one side and the pump on the back. This huge bracket is what I have. this engine came out of an 89 GT if that matters.

I've seen this power steering pump bracket on the 1994 and 1995 GT's. You can buy an A/C delete pulley that bolts in where the A/C compressor used to be. I've seen it sell on ebay pretty cheap and I think you can get it at most discount part stores too.

where it needs to separate is all one piece. I have never seen it another mustang so I beginning to wonder what engine this came out of.

My '88 T-Bird had that huge bracket before I installed the H.O. in it.It has to go.Get the Mustang bracket like in the top photo. The T-Bird steering brackets suck.
