i recently did the pi swap to my 97 gt, i got everything done and when i started my car it fired up for like a second, so i figured that because it sat for awhile it might take a few tries. the second time i started it did the same, but then heard a noise which turned out to be a ***** load of oil pouring out of somewhere on the engine(i dont know where) i have know i dea wher this would come from but if any mechanics have any idea please enlighten me because i am at my wits end with this pi swap!

Did you remember to check the back of the heads to see if all the plugs were in? If that were the case, I would think it should still start though.

Is the oil coming from the back of the motor?

Is there a lot of oil? Or just some? If there is a lot of oil it has to be coming from somewhere where there is pressure, like the oil sending unit. Or the plugs on the back of the heads.

Editamn, I gotta start proof reading before I hit send.

Hmmm, the only source of oil back there under pressure is the plugs, however oil from the vc can pour out rather nicely (don't ask how I know that). As far as the motor not running for more than a few seconds, go back over the engine and make sure all you vac. lines and sensors are connected. I fired my headswapped car up today for the first time. It would start at first, but I could hear compression (open headers) I checked the fuel shutoff, pressure at the lines, all my sensors, vac. lines, etc... I then stared right at the EFI harness bulkhead connector and remember the mental note I gave myself to tighten it. Didi that and it fired right up and idled like a champ. You'll get it.
