I've had this issue on two cars, one being my own, and the other an 01 Bullit with a seperate predator. When trying to put the factory HP tune on the car, it will not adjust the gear ratio to 3.73. It acts fine when you select the ratio, you flash the car, but it tunes for a 3.27 gear. Anybody else have these issues?

Yes. I know exactly what your talking about. You can not make any adjustments unless the performance tune is installed. Sucks but thats just the way it is.

My suggestion is dump the predator for an Xcal2....The Diablos dont seem to do much for performance, especially when u run there canned tunes....

Their's nothing wrong with the Predator. If you only run the canned tune and never use it for a dynotune then your a fool. That's where the bigger gains are. To tie in your mods to your engine. I gained 13RWHP @ 12RWTQ with my Predator. My friend who also has a Mach gained a whole 2RWHP with his XCal 2. For a dynotune and the basic changes it offers their is'nt a thing wrong with the Predator.

Thats right, its all about making the right adjustments.

I tuned my car myself and gained an additional 7rwhp and 13lbft of tourqe over the allready installed canned tune on my Diablosport.

I did tune it while it was on the dyno, but only to see my A/F ratio and check my gains. It was def. worth the $50 to make 3 runs.

So what is the point of the Factory HP tune, if the whole point of it is to make adjustments to non-performance related characteristics?

I bought the Predator because most tuners lock the damn Xcal tunes and if you decide to change gears you have to go pay the guy just to switch that one parameter in the tune. I rather pull out the Predator and do it myself in two minutes for free.

Wrong...

SCT and Diablo are more or less the same... the difference is in the tuner themselves.

Check your local clubs for a reccomended tuner, whatever software that person uses you should switch to, unless you want to trust a mail order. Then search Stangnet for people complaining about their mail order.

Mail orders can easily be pure junk unless you have a VERY REPUTABLE tuner.

Even then it can be hit or miss because each and every car is different, even though we all have 4.6's...

A dyno, wideband, or even a VERY keen sense of knowing what to listen, feel, and smell for are valuable tuning tools.
