I was just wondering . I have heard a lot about there being problems with the new 6 speed manuals with the 5.0s, and this is not a thread to debate how real they are .. I was thinking I might get a Performance Package V6 and was wondering if anyone has heard of problems with them ...

So, do you just wait for FORD to fix this problem, just stay away from any new Mustangs , ??? I wonder what is going on with the BOSS 302s and Shelby's ???

This is such BS. Sorry, I know that some people have had tranny problems but the fact of the matter is that NO ONE knows WHY they are having the problems. There are a ton of theories which is great but it is just ridiculous that an article focuses in the face that it was built in China when the problem COULD very well lie elsewhere.

The Shelby uses a completely different power train.

If you buy a GT500 you get a Tremec TR-6060 and avoid any problems. Just saying..

Hello snaggeltooth,

Minor engineering changes and a new lubricant have addressed many difficult shifting concerns. Any that still have issues are being reviewed for a one-time solution, as opposed to numerous dealer trips, which I know no one wants. You can feel confident in your purchase. Please let me know if you decide to get the V6! Have a great day!

I don't like how "domestic" cars have so many parts made in other countries like that. You try to support the american economy and you're still supporting the chinese one. I'm not going to buy a 2011 5.0.

My 11 GT 5.0 manual. Having trans issues, dealer changed fluid. Said, Ford had sent a notice about this. By changing fluid, they put in a different type.

You would have to manufacture the parts and build the car yourself, to get all parts made in the US. Did your post have a point, or are you just trolling?

LOL, what car do you think you're going to buy that's "all-american" parts? Hell, if they even made one that way, you wouldn't be able to afford it. The reason a Mustang GT is only 30K is because it's made out of 50% chinese parts. Any other car for that matter.

Everybody in America wants a $25/hr job but doesn't want to pay more than $20 for a DVD player. That leaves us with buying DVD players from China.

Hi jimj3125,

Did the fluid change resolve your transmission concern? If not, please let me know and I will assist.

I have 4500 miles on my 12' 5.0 and have no trans problems/clutch problems what-so-ever. I drive the car hard, especially on the 1-2 shifts. Still shifts perfectly and is still like new.

Buy the V6, drive the hell out of it and enjoy it. You wont have a problem with it, even if you do, itll probably be a minor problem. All the people who are having problems with their tranny's (like 15 people? maybe 16?) are just using the internet to vent and then the problem escalates into something huge. You will not be dissappointed by any new mustang. Especially when the mods come in.

P.s. Thank you Natasha for helping everyone out on this forum, you actually do help out a lot and actually try and fix their problems.

New V6/M6

I bought my new 12 V6/M6 AFTER reading the BS(one person mainly) complaints. Yes, there are some legit cars with issues(early 11 builds: pressure plate bolts/ clutch pedal, spring).

Just hit 4,000 mi. on mine and like it very much. Made a couple road trips and have averaged 32mpg at 70mph. Would buy again tomorrow........

I'm well aware that's it's not all parts from here. Hell when I swapped the brakes out the rotors said "Brazil" on them if I remember correctly. I'd prefer the whole car was made here but I guess it bugs me more when its major parts like transmissions and it also bugs me more when they don't even make it right and it's cheap junk as a result.
