problems with the stang

sup i have been having problems with my car lately i mean i just bought a new battery and it is dead within one day anyone have any ideas what it could be also my car has been backfirin but only under full throttle around 4 grand i was thinkin spark plug wires but im not sure thanks

Take the negative battery cable off, put a test light between the cable and the battery. If it lights up, that is a draw on the battery. Then start pulling fuses till the light goes dim and you found were the problem is coming from. There will always be a slight draw, so the test light will always be on, just real dim when there are no problems. Good luck, it can get nasty.

It is usually the little things you don't think about that kill a battery with parasitic drain. Look for courtsey lights, glove compartment lights that stay on all the time. Poorly wired sound systems & alarms will also drain the battery without you knowing about it.
