problems

I built the engine for my 88 about 2 years ago and have'nt really driven it much. well I fired it up a couple of days ago and it has a miss in it. after I drive it for a few miles it goes away, but if I put my foot in it it starts again? just wondering if anyone has any clues?

have already done a complete tune up still has the miss. changed coil, fuel filter, etc... the only thing that I've have found that's weird is when you unplug the o2 sensors it does'nt change anything? does'nt ever give a check engine light, so ???

I don't know how much you know about the eec5 but it sucks for getting it to give you a code!!! I've had this car for almost 10 years and have built 3 differant motors for it and this is the first time I've had any problems with a miss that was'nt mechanical?

Um, an '88 stang is EEC-IV, and if it came SD from the factory, it doesnt have a functional CEL.

The car will run fine (FMEM) with no lambda input.

WHen pulling codes, run a cylinder balance test to see if the puter can pick up the miss (via an RPM drop, which is hard to detect by ear).

Good luck.
