I currently have welded in Original 40 series flowmasters, and I am going to put on the Flowmaster American Thunder cat-back and MAC ProChamber. I was wondering, what all I would need and need to do in order to have a successfull installation. What kind of parts would I need to buy, order(passenger side exhaust gasket, etc.)? What kind of tools would I need, or rent(reciprocating saw, etc.)? Is there anything I need to do to my car(i.e. disconnect battery, raise idle RPM, let stand for 15 minutes after installation, etc.). Anything and everything from complete start to complete finish is wanted and greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sawzalls will make the job go by LIGHTNING fast. Get some PB blaster and spray down EVERY SINGLE BOLT you plan on putting a wrench to. That means: 2 bolts on each header, two bolts connecting the flow tubes to the h pipe. you really only need hand tools, although an electric or air compressed impact gun would help a lot when working on the bolts from the headers to the h-pipe. take me serious when i say this....spray every bolt down for 5 days straight. maybe even twice a day. I didnt do that on my old car and regretted it. when i did it to my new car, went by like lunch. trust me, youll be glad you did it. youll need a long extension for your socket wrench or many extensions to hook together. hope this helps. oh, what are you gonna do with those 40 series?

Hye,. thanks for the info. I will start to spray down my bolts today. I really appreciate all the info. I will need a passenger side OE exhaust gasket also, won't I? And with those old 40's, I will probably just store them in my garage or something...hell, maybe as a keepsake or something...why do you ask?
