My car is back on the road and the gasket needs to be replaced AGAIN. Ive gone through 2 mac gaskets, 3 ford gaskets, and its still leaking. I want to know if adding mac shorty headers, or any other brands will help seal up the prochamber. What about adding 2 mac gaskets, has anyone tried that? Ive retorqued the bolts as suggested and within a month or so, the leak will occur and the mac gaskets literally blow up. Instead of buying a new pipe, id rather fix the problem. Oh, i also replaced the manifold studs on the drivers side to fix that leak, will this help the leak on the passengers side if i replace those studs too? Any information will be helpful, ive tried just about everything. Thanks.

Man i dont know. I've never heard of anyone having problems with the stock gasket on the prochamber passenger side. The only problem there, is its a PITA to get to the bolts to loosen them up for the install. I never had an exhaust leak on the passenger side. Only had a leak on the driver side because of the shoulder on the bolt not letting me seal the flange down on the joint.

Why not try to get a stock ford gasket and apply it to the exhaust manifold. I never even pulled my stock one off and have never had a leak from it.

Don't use the ****ty MAC gasket. Go out and buy a OEM Ford gasket or even use the one that you took off for the passager side manafold.
I also swaped the manafold studs on the Driver side.
Never had a leak here.

Its a good Pipe, Mac just has a ****ty gasket.

Take out that CRAP gasket and use the Original on the Passanger side
PROBLEM SOLVED

Yeah.... i did that with the ford gasket. Im about to replace the 3rd ford one. I know its leaking because i can hear the ticking sound inside the car. I was told the ford gasket was better, but the MAC sealed up better. The ford gasket can be bought 4 minutes away at the dealer :-p

Yeah what he said. I had the same exact situation with my install. The driver side bolts needed to be replaced. After that no probs  . The sound is :hail2:

i had that problem too, but only with the mac h-pipe. what i did was went to the local hardware store and bought a fel-pro hasket made out of metal fibers. it looks like the mac gasket except it is thinner. i have had no problem with this gasket, and have actually reused it when i got my x-pipe.

i put a prochamber on my 00gt teamed up with packs...the fitment sucked..it leaked and it sounded like ass wit my packs...was removed 10min later and sold here on stangnet..

It leaked because you didn't get the NAPA stud kit to replace the bolts. If you had you would have been able to enjoy about the most beautiful sound ever.

mine looked like it needed to be welded and ground to really be " inside the window"

it leaked at first, I did all the bs on drivers side from the get go, I just loosened the bolts and snugged them again w/3/8 impact gun, but I think the problem may slightly be having the nuts tightened evenly on the passenger side

I just found out today that MAC supposedly sells a new copper gasket for the prochamber. Im gonna try one of those when i get around to ordering it. Ill post my results once its on.

I also heard that MAC exhaust parts seal up well to other mac products, but doesnt seal up well with some others. Im thinking of buying the MAC shorties just so i dont have to hear that leak anymore.

lol that title is awesome
i'm gonna send this link to dk, he says magnaflow/bassani are CRAP quality and Mac is awesome quality
I said they sound like crap... Never said they were crap quality. Macs quality isnt the greatest but the sound is ;)

I didn't even try to seal the passenger side before I swapped to the NAPA studs. I'm still using the original stock gasket on the passenger side too. Swap out those stock bolts with the shoulder, use a stock gasket and you shouldn't have another problem with leaks.
