procharger or mongoose kit???

alright guys, im stuck deciding between these 2 kits. everyone says that the mongoose kit is the best, if i get that, it will be $4,250. but the procharger kit runs $3,250 and needs only injectors and some final tuning on the dyno, help me decide, please reply with any problems, ups and downs you've had with either of these, TIA.

Hands down the mongoose kit. Not only do you get a complete kit but you also get the great customer service that Cobra Killer is so well known for along with a great tune. My vortechs have been rock solid and the only procharger I had blew a seal with 6k miles on it so that should tell you my opinion on them.

alright, thanks alot guys, micool, ive seen your video, that car is freakin awsome man, i will probably end up forking out the extra $ and get the novi 2000 from T&J, and that works well because its pretty close to my house

Another vote for T&J--even if you're doing the install yourself, you can't beat the support you'll get. Plus it includes the EFI adaptive tune: better than a chip.

Thank ya sir. Some advice here.........take a drive over to the shop one day and just look around at the cars, dyno sheets, and the shop in general. Some of the nicest people you'll ever meet and of course absolutely know what they're doing. Good luck and you'll love that Novi!

If you get the intercooler on the paxton set up it might cost your more money but the performance not to mention potential of the kit is no where near comparison , you get what you pay for , I debated this same thing and personally I think the 03 cobra tank and pump setup which im saving money for right now along with the paxton air to air intercooler even with my vortech SQ is going to out do the procharger . I especially dont like the fact you have to take the procharger off the car to change the oil in the blower every 6000 miles , its a pain to get a belt on one of these cars with a centrifugal blower on it , which makes the vortech easier to maintain in my opinion

for sure, and to be honest its not even gonna be that much cheaper, after fuel injectors and the tune your looking at a difference of maybe $300...for way less power and a much worse blower along with no adaptive tune

ok guys, dont stop the replies just yet, i got a phone call today, a good car buddy of mine can hook me up with a brand new vortech s-trim kit for $2500. It's not intercooled and all i'll need is injectors and my buddy has a mass air from his totaled lighting, i'll be installing with the help of a mechanic friend, i was thinking about goin this route and getting it tuned from T&J. Do u guys think i would be saving enough $ to go through this or should i just buy the mongoose kit? Thanks a ton

Besides the Vortech itself what else do you get for $2,500?

I ask this because 2,500 sounds like a tuner kit price. (not complete kit)

you maybe correct, this is supposed to be kind of like a hookup price, but i was told i will have everything i need except injectors and mass air

Another good shop in the Atlanta area is MV Performance. They can put together a kit for you just like T&J does. They have done all the work on my car. Check them out:

ok - there are a couple of mongoose kits. there's one with a efi flash and one with a steeda flash. what's the difference?

If it doesnt have injectors , it doesnt have a fuel pump either , that is basically a TUNER KIT , I am still using my stock mass air and im sure any 02 and newer GT without an intercooler can get by without one , T&J im sure uses the mass air they use because of the choice of injectors and just the way Tims sets up the tune on the cars , probably makes it easier for him to dial it in right the first time on the ECM reflash .
