Procharger really is in now, but probs

Well, finished installing it today. Shop closed before I could get around to installing the fuel pumps though. Started very rough but I guess as the computer adapted it smoothed out. The tune is still off though.

Drove it back to the parking lot and as I got near it the tach started going haywire, I got the battery light, airbag light, and ABS light. Drove into the parking lot and the engine started acting real sluggish like it didn't want to run. Eventually as I got near a spot, it just gave up on life and died. Tried to restart it and it just clicked, looked at the voltage and it showed below 8.

I'm thinking that somewhere along the line when I moved the battery to the trunk something got messed up and the alternator isn't charging the battery...I bet i was just running off the batt on the way back.

On the bundle of wires that lead to the alternator, there's a separate wire that comes off of it in the middle. Where is that supposed to go to? Thanks. Also, if anybody has any other ideas, I'd be happy to hear them.

i have had 2 alts die on and thats the way it sounds either a dead alt and then it drained your battery or it was just draining your batt the whole time you know its about to die when the tach gets jumpy lol

Well, I figured it out, and I'm an idiot. I hooked up a wire wrong, just found out by looking through some old pictures of the engine swap. So yes, the battery wasn't charging and it just died.

If the car is just running off the battery, would that cause the engine to lose power, or was that just the crappy tune?

maybe both but more than likely the battery was the cause of most of it.

OK, ok, though I'm not sure why you want a picture of a beautiful supercharger surrounded by an ugly-ass engine bay.

Went and fixed the wiring this morning, jumped it and after some shaking, coughing, and smoking for a couple minutes, the idle smoothed right out. Took it out for another drive, and the engine idles and revs fine, but under load everything goes to crap. I had a tough time making it up a couple of hills.

I'm gonna play with the timing a little bit and definitely try to get a decent tune ASAP. I guess the mail order tuners couldn't quite get it right, but I don't really blame them since they don't really have anything to work with but some numbers and information.

Good news: It runs
Bad news: It runs like crap, but i'll take it for now.

Alright, you made me do it. Don't mind all the grease and grime, I see it as a form of rust protection. Also, most of that wiring is just temporary until I get things going well then i'll at least clean that up.

Good God all Mighty... that thing is BIG. Kinda sucks your air filter is over the headers. Going to cut into your fender later?

Where did you put your fuse box?

I was just messin' too. And he'll find out just how much I was messin' when in 5 years from now I drop a 2,000lb JDAM on his house!

No idea on the belt, the belt the kit came with was a tad too long since I didn't reinstall the A/C, so I went to autozone and bought one size smaller.

Well, considering I was half mentally retarded when I built the engine (I'm down to 1/4 retarded now) and I started out with a street upper on top of the R lower, the R-Series upper was a vast improvement in the higher RPM's. I'm sure that a the R-Series Box intake would have been even better, but its taller and this thing rubs the hood as it is.

By the way, Pokageek's engine bay will probably look fantastic. I put literally zero effort into how mine looked. I was building it on a timeline (only get so many breaks from school to go home) and didn't have a whole lot of extra time to polish things up and make them look nice.
