This might be a stupid question, but here goes. Last week I ordered a Procharger 8psi kit for my 03 Mach1. I have a Magnaflow catback on the car now. I also have a Bassani cat'd x sitting in my basement. Will there be any big draw backs using the stock H with 4cat's other than a drop in power?
My only fear on the cat'd x is failing inspection. A small drop in power wont bother as much as failing an inspection (4 cat's vs 2 with the X).
Thanks for any input.

i would put it on if I were you and just change out midpipes when inspection comes up....or do what i do, ask on a local mustang forum for someone who can hook you up with an inspection.

i mean....i would never do such a thing

why dont you just run it with the X pipe on the dyno; they'll scan it using a wide band 02 sensor, and tell you how rich/lean your running. If you have a good tune, and cats on the X pipe, you should be fine. How often do you have inspections?

My suggestion to you, as well, would be to get the custom tune and get an SCT MAF that way your tuner can dial in an excellent air/fuel mix so you shouldn't have a problem with inspections.

NY has just begun very strict inspections. They plug into the computer as well as do the emissions and will now do a visual. If they see 2 cats instead of 4 they would probably fail the car. If there are any problems or codes in the comp it will fail. I'm hoping a burned chip is not going to cause me problems???
I just hope that with the stock H in place and with the tune there will be no MIL's. The Procharger is supposedly 50 state legal?
Anyway Just got the car inspected today. As long as the computer reads no codes, the car will pass the new inspections. I'll keep the X around just incase, I can always have 2 more high flow cats welded into it.
Thanks,
Joe
