can anyone tell me if the procomp distributors are any good or if they had any problems with them,i have a very slight miss at around 1500 to 2000 rpm ,im pretty sure this distributor is the problem,i have a new procomp pc8022

I personally won't buy any ProComp products and do not find their quality to be in line with the rest of the market.

The problem is they reverse engineer a wide range of products, get around the patents and sell them at a great discount.

The reason their quality isn't on par is because instead of actually coming up with original ideas, they simply steal someone else's. This completely undermines our hobby and articles denouncing such companies, with ProComp in particular pointed out, have been published in numerous enthusiast magazines.

If you have a miss at that low of an RPM, it's possible that your mechanical advance isn't moving properly or is moving too quickly. Try backing off/adding a little timing each way and see if and when it gets rid of the miss. Then you'll know how to curve it properly.

I personally have their distributor and after all of 50 miles I will gladly sell you mine. Actually it belongs in the trash can as it fits loose into the block and the overall quality is just poor. I thought I would save some $ as I am eventually going to F.I. the car but would NOT recommend their parts. If their attempt at a dist. is this bad I'd hate to see their heads. It all boils down to this for me..I drive a classic American car....China made parts do not belong on it no matter the savings.
