ive had 3 of them and they where all perfect no casting problems or anything. BUT i installed one last summer for clean93gt on here and the holes that the fuel rails bolt to had casting issues and the holes were cloggged up with metal. but the 3 ive had on my cars where all nice pieces.

Does anyone have a specific dyno sheet we can see with pro products parts? The reason I ask is because a local shop did an Intake and throttle body install with professional products on a bone stock five oh and only achieved 7 whp more. I would like to see a dyno sheet though...

you should buy the edelbrock and support an american company instead of sending your money to a chinese company who ripped off edelbrocks design

I tend to agree, but it would help if Edelbrock wouldn't price it like it's made out of platinum.

I agree, not to mention all the R&D time and money Victor Edelbrock's company has into its design...only to have it copied.

Tons of info on them on this forum if you just search typhoon intake. Never ran one but I wish i would have spent the same amount of money as my explorer intake on a used typhoon. i think I've seen them for 200 on corral in good condition. If you have a dremel on hand I wouldnt worry about casting issues, if you get a new one though I heard they dont have problems. Chinese or American I'd be looking at how it flows not who makes it. For eddy your paying double just for a name. They should lower their price.

Your right, that just goes to show you how much mark up there is on products with brand names.

US factory 10,000,000
US worker 25$ Per hour
US Taxes 30%
= product A Price

Chinese Factory 2,000,000
Chinese workers 2$ Per hour
Chinese Tax whatever gov feels like
= Product B price

It has nothing to do with Edelbrock lowering his price he charges, Both factorys/ Companies probably have the same profit margin, its just simple economics on why the US product is more.

+1 Screw Professional Products. I'm not a fan of patriot for the same reason with their knockoff AFR heads. If enough people buy the PPI POS, then there is no reason for Edelbrock to continue to make parts for a 5.0 And we know PPI doesn't do any research and design their own parts.

That's one way of looking at it. The other would be how much less would it cost you when there's NO r&d and your part is being made by a 12yo in, yes, a non union shop.

I wouldnt blame the unions on this one, i dont think edelbrock is a union shop either, but its total bullsh-i-t that companies like this get away with copying someone else's innovative design. PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS IS A **** SHOW OF A COMPANY AND IF YOU LIKE QUALITY YOU WONT BE HAPPY WITH THIER STUFF. Edelbrock is competitively priced with all of the major companies that produce 5.0 intakes. if anything they are a little cheaper, and they make a quality product that they stand behind with american workers that take pride in thier work.

If you wanna buy the chinese junk and save a couple bucks go for it. but it really pisses me off to hear things like this, everyone wants something for nothing and then when they get a ****ty intake in the mail they jump all over the forums and say "LOOK AT THIS POS INTAKE, DONT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY"

When i was working in a machine shop i had to mill some material off of my trick flow intake and my boss was very impressed with the quality of the casting and the machine work on the intake, and when i told him what they cost new he was shocked that it was so cheap, he told me that he had no idea how they were making any money.

Its not easy running a business when you have to pay shop overhead, sky high insurance, taxes, and competitive rates to their employees, and it makes it even harder when ripoff companies steal a design that took thousands of hours of design, R&D, and testing, and call it thier own.

Its reasons like this that companies go under, crane cams is a good example, and dont be surprised if more american companies have to close their doors.

**** CHINESE JUNK
end rant

If that rant was directed at me, you didn't get what I was posting. I HATE that chinese knockoff ****. I do not have either an edelbrock or a PPI POS. I currently have a gt40 tubular. My last mustang had a edelbrock though.
