I have decided to go with a 75mm throttle body because it will match the rest of my intake components. To that end, I have been looking for one.

Now I have heard that Professional Products Throttle Bodies, are not good. How bad are they and why? What is wrong with them? The price is great ...

I have read that they like to stick a lot and stay stuck at W.O.T. sometimes. Again that is just what I have read on different forums review sections(the old reviews here on stangnet, and corral).

Ive also heard that there not that good as far as quality. I agree w/ Vib a 75MM is to big for that set up, your low end TQ will suffer and thats what makes 5.0's shine.

Same here.

While some may disagree with me, I'll say this-
I had a 95 w/ Cobra intake, LT's, and a Powerdyne. I put a 70mm tb on it and regretted going that big. Tried 2 different ones (to make sure it wasn't just a bad one, but lost throttle response w/ both 70's. I put the stock one back on and sold it.

Sorry, I wasnt clear..."ours" meant our TB's but not that one.

When we bought our TB's we were LOOKING at those, and another member said how bad they were...So Joe and I got ours when we together bought over $1k of stuff from Summit at the same time in one order. We got the BBK TB's and had them polished at a shop. ... we both would have spent the extra $$ on the Accufabs, but they were no where to be had.

I had a 65mm one and i hated it. the part where the TPS bolts to is supposed to be adjustable, tightened, and never to move. i had the thing COMPLETELY tightened and it swung around like a monkey on a vine. i upgraded to a BBK 70mm tb and i love it. the quality and craftsmanship is out of this world!

You might just want to throw out the $250 or so and get a accufab off ebay.

Better safe than sorry

I just bought a Professional Products throttle body off E-bay. The quality looks very nice, but I haven't put it on yet. I haven't heard anything about poor quality with there throttle bodies until now. My old roomate had one on his Fox with zero problems.

Hopefully yours is OK.

RC when we were getting TB's wasn't it Riffraff who threw his away in the garbage? He was afraid to sell it to anyone.

Is it the geometry of the cable routing that makes them stick? Does anyone know? I asked the E-bay guy who sold it too me and he said that those were the old throttle bodies. He couldn't tell me the difference though.
