Profile Ignition Pickup

Have had idle problems with my car for a few weeks now, an interesting thing to note is that when i have my diablosport predator hooked up to it the PROFILE IGNition Pickup keeps reading on and off, on and off. Shouldn't it stay either ON or OFF? What controls this and is this normal?

The PIP on/off is normal operation for the ignition system it means
the pcm is getting proper signals from the cmp/icm, If youre having
idle problems try checking your iac by tapping it to see if it clears up
or with youre predator check the short and long fuel trims for signs of a
vac leak generally anything over +15% on one or both banks will indicate
a vac leak. also check your mass air meter for contamination on the element
