I am considering a Proform HEI dizzy for my carb 5.0. It appears that It is self contained in terms of having a coil and ignition. My concern would be a lack of rev limiter. Anyone figure this out?

ProForm is a cheap line.....spend the extra and get something like MSD or Accel...(something tried and tested)

I would hate to read a thread about why your car won't run only to find out it was that PF dizzy

But I have no experience with them that was just my 2cents

ProForm = junk.

If you are hell bent on getting an HEI style distributor, at least go with Performance Distributors DUI.

If it were me, as was already mentioned, I'd get an MSD.

Thanks for the heads up!

Well it pays to ask...I was a little concerned about the quality of the shaft, and will go forward with what I know will work such as a Mallory billet dizzy, coil, and ignition.

Thanks again for the warning on Proform.

I have found a lot of MSD's stuff to be junk too. Particularly this brand new set of wires that I got that were arching between each other at the cap :-\
