Progress photos, dailup users beware

I took a few photos of my Clone on Sunday afternoon just after the test drive I made. I still have to install the interior but the engine compartment and exterior of the car are virtually complete. I will replace the styled steel wheels with Vintage wheels V50 series in 16 x 8 size, after I have an alignment done. I am really happy with the results.

Here is a link to the photos. Dail up users beware!

We used SEM Products Trim Black paint (#39143). I goes on great, and after scratching it while putting some things in place I discovered it touches up well.

I have G/West upper and lower control arms, since the arm drop is 1 3/8" I was a little worried about the loss of shock travel. The spacers a re my attempt to recover the loss. Not sure if I will ever need the additional travel or if I will keep them. It moves the top of the shock very close to the underside of the hood. Time will tell.....

The washer bag, pump and other hardware is still packed away. Priorities, priorities.

WOW!

That engine compartment is spotless! :hail2: Even the rubber on the hood bumpers are fantastic. Those are the little details that will set your car apart from the rest. And the FoMoCo blue on the block is outstanding too. Again: :worship:

NICE!

Man that looks good!

Maybe one day my engine will look that good...I doubt it...

What valve covers and where did you get them? Those are the ones I want. Also what are the specs?

I see AFR heads...which ones? What dist, intake and carb? or do you have a site with your stuff???

Ron

The engine is a 331 stroker from Keith Craft.

It has AFR185 heads, Air Gap intake, comp cams XE266HR cam ,roller lifters and rockers, flowcooler water pump, MSD ready to run dizzy, blaster coil, and Speed Demon 650 with vac secondaries. I bought the valve covers from Branda and a Cobra oil pan and air filter as well. I added March pulleys and alternator bracket.

I had Keith Craft run the engine on their dyno prior to shipment, it produced 410 hp at 4800 rpm, 430 # torque at 4100 rpm. I am using a C4 trans that has been rebuilt, I used a TCP servo and a BM shift kit, but kept the stock converter. I plan to replace this trans with a AOD in the future. I replaced the 2.80 open rear with a 3.55 Trac Loc from Currie.

Do you know if that paint holds up well to engine bay temperatures?
I'm sure you don't know yet from personal experience, since it does'nt look like your car has hit the road yet, but just wondering if the paint specs. give a temp. range.
Awesome Mustang by the way, GREAT JOB!!!

The booster and master are the SSBC kit. It is hard to see, but I made a rigid line for the vacuum supply using 3/8 steel tubing. I bent it to follow the contour of the firewall, and used short pieces of hose to connect at each end. Looks much neater than a section of hose draped across everything.

Great looking car. Like everyone else, I LOVE the engine compartment.

Keep up the good work.

You'll dig the vintage wheels, (that's what I put on my 66 Fastback Clone looking thing.) If you haven't already purchased them you might want to consider 17" wheels, damn they look good.

AGAIN GREAT CAR, sounds quick too......

.

Is that sprayed on with a paint gun or is it from an aerosol can? Where can you get the paint at? I was going to go with Eastwoods under hood black, but I do believe I like the SEM better.

The firewall was sprayed with a gun, I did however touch it up using a spray can. The entire underside of my car was sprayed with this as well.

Check with auto body supply shops, I had the shop that did the paint work onm y car get me a few extra cans for touch up purposes.
