Progress Thread Project PMOR: 97 Saleen S281 #19 build

Santa aka @95steedamustang stopped by today and dropped something off. He also ended up taking stuff back with him for my next project.

I owe an update since it has been almost 9 months since the car came home. All my electronics showed up late last week, waiting on wire (Tefzel) and all my connectors so I can start working on the wiring. I’ve kind of stopped doing anything with the car back in March.

Pictured is my electronics. We have a Holley Dominator, CAN I/O expansion box, VCT control module and a Hardwire PDM28. I will be deleting both internal and external fuses boxes and relays and consolidate it all down to the PDM.

Quick story why it got put on hold:

Shortly after the car arrived I started measuring up everything, figuring out electronics mounting and stuff. I placed my order with a company I have used for 20+ years. They told me it would take a few weeks to get some items in but once it all arrived they’d ship everything out. It was not odd if it took 3-4 weeks for stuff to ship. The value was in excess of 15k.

Two months go by and so I call the business to get an automated message “The number you have dialed is no longer in service”. So my heart just sinks, I find out the owner had passed about four weeks after paying for everything and the family decided to just close the doors and basically keep whatever money they had.

Before anyone says “Why not do a charge back?” Well because I paid by check so I could save 5% versus using a credit card (remember I’ve dealt with this place for 20+ years). So I have been dealing with all that through the legal system.

So between them and now I had to scrape up more cash to re-order all that again, which I’m not there yet but stuff is coming in, slowly.

Anyhow, the car will start moving forward again. I’m hoping in the Spring I’ll be able to start on it. For now I will keep ordering piece by piece.

Sounds like a mess of a problem dealing. I would assume you have some legal options but will stay out of that.

The fun part is you have some toys and such to install and hopefully some good results!
And that car is freaking sexy!

It is a mess, and we are pursing legal action, its just is it worth it in the end once you figure in legal fees and crap. You'd be shocked these days how quickly a lawyers fees will equal more than the amount is owed.

I will hopefully be looking at mounting the electronics this week or next.
