I am currently trying to gut my proportioning valve and install an adjustable one and after I have finally gotten off the leaking bolt I am faced with this. I assumed when gutting, the internals would just pull out but this is stuck. I have pulled as hard as I can but to no avail. Any suggestions?

A bit messy but have you tried hitting the brake pedal, hard? Use a cloth over the valve to contain the mess.

I did that a few times. Some gross old brake fluid came out as well as some rubber piece. I ended up getting the internals out though… there was a spring holding it down, though because it’s a bad angle and hard to see into, I can’t tell if there is anything else that is supppsed to come out of there? This is everything that came out. Am I missing anything?
