I got walked on by a PT loser convertible yesterday driving my wife's Taurus. In retaliation, I offer this:

the PT was na - no turbo, and I have the vulcan, which also gets the same gas millage as the 5 speed 4.6 stang. I'm getting a kick out of all the responses.

Really....so you couldn't get the PT Cruiser with a factory Turbo??? Better tell these guys that! http://www.ptcruizer.com/concepts/gt-cruiser.html

Also I'm not sure how hard you drive your Taurus, but my sisters '97 with the old Vulcan got decent gas mileage around town and great gas mileage on the highway. Much better than any Stang I've driven. Their Tanks are realativley small though.

EDIT
Ford Rates their EPA as 20mpg city and 27mpg highway. That's a little better than most Stangs I've owned.

I was saying the pt that took me was not a turbo, I know there is a gt version with a turbo

We have 3 tauruses between my dad and I, and we both agree that they get cruddy gas mileage and the transmission is clunky and shifts like poo, but they'll outlast anything else in our garages. I also don't drive anything around town, I'm all highway commute, and the best I get is with the mazda at 32mpg, the taurus and coupe get 24 at best.
