PTV Clearance

Ok, before I get started, I know I have to check PTV clearance...but I just wanted to get some opinions or maybe find someone who has a similar setup.

-1993 GT
-Cobra intake
-GT40 irons
-TFS stage 1 cam (221/225 .490/.510)
-1.7RR (makes lift .520/.542)
-88 short block w/ forged pistons (I am assuming stock pistons)

I want to mill the heads as much as possible. I really want 10.1 compression, but I think that would require around .075 to be shaved..probably way too much. So, I will probably shoot for about .045 and 9.5 compression.

I want to switch to the AFM N-412 cam (222/230 .512/.512) and re-use my 1.7RR. My concern is that it would make the lift around .544/.544. Does anyone think this will work in conjunction with me milling .045 from the heads? Again, I will obviously check PTV clearance when building, but an idea as to what I can expect would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does anyone have any experience with this cam (AFM N-412)? I was considering the N-41, but the N-412 appears to have better drivability.

I didn't build my longblock but the guy that i bought it from told me all that he could remember about it. It's got an x303 cam (.542/.542) with 1.6 ratio rockers. the heads were ground down to bring the compression to 10.75:1. they are Trick Flow TW heads, I don't know how much they were ground down I just know that is what it came out to. They did a lot of work to the heads, they ported them out and polished them to the point I had to trim the intake and exhaust gaskets. Its also got Sealed Power Forged pistons. I don't know how tight everything is in there but it was built by a very reputable machine shop and it hasn't blown up yet haha. I dunno if that helps at all...Good Luck!

Bills89GT, Thanks for the reply man. I guess I will just have to try and see. Aren't the sealed power forged pistons a stock style replacement? If they are, and you are making it with twisted wedge heads, then surely I can make it too.
