Any idea where to start with trying to figure out where the power steering pump and bracket came from??
Mustang5L5 said:
Hmm, that's not a standard mustang PS bracket. It's Something different. The pump and pulley are not 1993 vintage either.

Is that original motor?

Even more reason for this

Honestly, don't know. Tried googling some other 5.0 setups and nothing matched up. You have an part numbers visible on the bracket, pump and pulley?

I have a 93 fox body 5.0 hatchback.. I intend for it to be a good sounding street car that occasionally I take to track and want to always out run a camaro!! I will most likely just be driving as my weekend warrior to shows and events with my kids. Modifications I'm not 100% sure of yet other than smog and ac deleted and edelbrock performer 5.0 upper and lower intake with 70mm throttle body and upgraded injectors I think 24 lbs.

Which Camaro? A ZL1? You'll need a stroker, lots of boost, and some way to get it planted to the ground. Tall order. On the street, turbo spool is not an advantage unless you're doing rolling run on some empty highway.

There's maybe a handful of cars on this forum that will build and plant power well enough to leave cat-fish face behind from a dig.

It's not to say that it can't be done but you're looking at the very least, at $15,000 in power train and suspension upgrades. More if you want to Road Course it.

Your only real advantage is the weight difference between the two.

This thing doesn't think about making power a little down the road. It makes it right effin meow.

Hey I've looked and looked no part number in the bracket or pump. I guess biggest question I have is if I buy the ac delete bracket will it work with my setup? I did find day me numbers on the heads that they are off an 86 5.0. But even in 86 they didn't have this bracket. I appreciate all your guts help with all my projects.

If you did the AC delete kit that relocates the pump, it would replace all the bracketry on the drivers side of the motor. Problem is your pump doesn't look like standard fox pump and you'd need the fox style PS pump bracket that isn't included in the delete kit

I can't seem to find anywhere a power steering bracket or the bracket and pump combo. Is there any other car that has same power steering pump setup as fox body? Maybe I can pickup bracket from salvage yard that way..

I did find out that my heads are the E6SE-AA heads off of an 86 GT. So I'm not sure if that's the power steering bracket or not..

E6 heads were also used on 5.0 non HO applications after 1986. Crown Vic's, town cars, thunderbirds, f150s, etc.

They typically use a standard 302 firing order , so can you look at the dist and tell what firing order it's using?

I have a feeling the entire engine was remove from another 5.0 vehicle and dropped in

What he said^. Try arranging the plug wires using the HO firing order. If it runs like dog poo, then it is a non-HO 5.0. Based on how those pulleys look, that came from a passenger car that was not a mustang, so I doubt that is an HO engine, unless it came from an 86' lincoln mark 7 LSC (not sure how their pulleys look though). The 86' HO mustang accessory pulleys look like the 87-93 HO mustang pulleys. I would look for an 87'-93' HO engine and sell that one. 87'-88' 5.0 HO's were the best (not including 93' 5.0 cobra engine) since they had a slightly more aggressive stock cam, compared to the 89'-95' 5.0 HO engines. But any 87-93' 5.0 HO engine would be a decent choice. Oh, and beginning in 93' they used hypereutectic pistons instead of forged pistons. Technically the forged ones are stronger, but for an non boosted application, it shouldn't cause any problems. If anything, they are better for naturally aspirated applications since they are lighter in weight and expand more quickly to avoid any slight blow-by during cold engine operation.

It also assumes running a standard fox PS pump, which he isnt

If he had this pump and the bracket bolted to it, then why could buy that AC relocation kit and just yank all that stuff.

Really needs to ID what he has first before buying parts. For all we know there could be alignment issues with other side of accessory system.

Any more pic of the motor? Perfhaps we can find clues as to what it's out of. Any part numbers on the pump?

Edit: actually the pump looks like it could be fox but the bracket it bolts to is def not compatible

This says pretty much any power steering pump will work from 79 on. I'm gonna pull this off soon clean it up and see if there's any part numbers on it..
