the test port for the 94-95 GT is under the hood on the passanger side strut tower.our cars are OBD1.
i use the Innova #3145,it's just code reader though, not a scanner.

i think the test port for the 94-95 V6 mustangs use the test port under the dash on the drivers side.i THINK these are OBD2??? NOT SURE THOUGH.

I know OBD-II compliance wasn't required until '96, but I swear I read somewhere that our 94/95s were at least PARTIALLY OBD-II compliant (as in at least some of the codes/polling should work).

Can anyone confirm/deny this authoritatively?

EDIT: Okay, after some research I found this:
According to this site the following engine family for the 1994 Mustang is partially OBD-II compliant: RFM3.8V8G1EK
And for 1995: SFM3.828G1EK

I have no idea what that means, but the 3.8 leads me to think V6 engines only

source: http://www.obdii.com/connector.html

I haven't personally used this, but perhaps it could work for easily reading codes (without the counting flashes PITA)

As properly noted, the V8 '94-95's are OBD-I and use the STC on the passenger side firewall.

The 94-95 V6 cars were OBD-II, hence our cars having both connectors. The OBD-II connector will not work on GT/Cobras.

Use the connector under the hood and expect to see 3 digit OBD-I codes.

From the same source I linked to above (note, Ford uses PWM for OBDII):

J1850 PWM--The connector should have metallic contacts in pins 2, 4, 5, 10, and 16.

If your vehicle has this style connector, but doesn't have these pins populated, you probably have a pre-OBDII vehicle. To add some confusion, even having the connector with the contacts shown above is not a guarantee of OBD II compliance. This style connector has been seen on some pre-1996 vehicles which were not OBD II compliant.
