i dropped my tranny last week and since the motor( short block) was hanging by the two motor mounts . i unbolted em and me and my brother picked right up and out by hand .
so if you have a cherry picker it would be cake

Its not bad, I have done it about 6-8 times, and eash time it gets easier. There are a few things that you might over look, like wires, and the like, but if you go slow and double check before you go to far its not hard! A cherry picker makes it nice also!

Its easy if you have a hoist, and if its your first time I would recommend marking all the wireing/hose connections with tape and a marker. Otherwise it could take ALOT longer .

Its more hard work than actually being "hard" to do. Get a roll of masking tape and a Sharpie and mark all wires and hoses. Use a hoist and take your time. Altogether I spent about 2-3days removing/replacing mine, doing it alone and the first time. I left the transmission in.
