How do you guys hook up the chains to pull the motor? I was thinking about the plate that goes in place of the carb, but I was told that I shouldn't do that with an aluminum intake. Any other suggestions. BTW I have new chrome valve covers that I need to be carefull around. Any help would be awsome. Thanks in advance,

Chris

any time i pull a motor,i put long bolts where the headers bolt on.this is where i hook up four equal length chains, two in front, two in back, and run all four to the hoist hook.

I have alway used one of the bolt holes in the heads where the accessories bolt on. then go across the motor and use one of the similar holes on the back of the other head. This keeps the chain from crushing the valve covers. This also give you lots of room to change the center position on the chanin to allow the motor to tip at an angle.

You can also pick up a few engine hook brackets at a salvage yard from some of the imports or Escorts. Just bolt them where you want and hook your chains or hooks up to them. It makes the work a lot easier.
