I have a bearing roar coming from the rear end. I have already change the driver side rear wheel bearing but that wasn't it. So now I have gone back in and want to change the right wheel bearing. The problem is I have pulled the pinion shaft, pushed the right axle in toward the middle, but I can't get the C-lock (clip) off the rear axle shaft I need to generate more slack along the axle shaft so as to get the edge of the C-Lock to clear the edge of the right drive gear so I can pull it. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's the same as the other side, maybe you have some crud in there or something. When you pull the axles look at where the bearing rides on the axle itself, if it is pitted, and it probably is, you will need to replacet he axle as well. BTW, the 8.8s were known as being a little on the noisy side compared tot he 9 & 8 inch.

As a thought, make sure that you aren't bottoming out on the anti lock brake pick up.
