Purging nitrous from the stock hood vents

ok guys, i might be the person you are looking for since i have tried it a few different ways and i still have my last and final way to do it but i am too lazy to do since i dont have my nitrous in my car as of now...still have to get my leaky front crank seal fixed.

Let me answer your questions first. If the vinyl tubing is not the exact same size it will not spray the same amount. You have to find a way to actually mount the tubing since that is a lot of damn pressure moving through those lines...Think of it like a mini fire hose. I mean it should look pretty cool, after all it is a dual nitrous purge. And I believe hard line is the way to go since it sprays more accurately and it looks neater...the same thing goes thought about how the lines should be the same length however. Now on to my story.

I actually have it a little harder then you guys since I am running the 03/04 cobra hood or the Heat Extractor hood made by Cervinis so my vents are even further down.

My 1st way:

I did what you said about splitting it off right after the solenoid and running two tubes. For the tubes i used high pressure freezer bedable tubes. I then ran clips under my hood in order to run the lines to vents. In order to have the clips held on I epoxied them. I then attached the freezer line to 5/16 brake line that I bent so they would fit perfectly in the vents I have.

In the video you will see that it sprays out more side then the other.
Also the downside to doing it this way is that after awhile the freezer lines will harden and burst on you...I also had a problem of trying to keep them attached to the brake line...they would normally pop off under pressure. Also in the video you can see when I hit the button there was a slight hesitation before the nitrous shot of the lines since the lines would expand under the pressure.

My 2nd Way:

Well this time I stopped being lazy and wanted to do it the right way. So this time I made it all hard lines. Meaning i bent all brake lines and put my own flare fittings on them, to make it line up perfectly. I used clips again but put smaller ones on. At first i tried to use a compression fitting with the flexible freezer hose to try to get around the opening and closing of the hood. But i soon found out the pressure was too much for that little area and it would blow the hose every time. I then changed this to a flexible aluminum hard line. Also I ran one line off the solenoid all the way up to the point of where I was going to tee them off. I will take a picture tomorrow and show you guys.

This is the result of it this time... you can see the driver side is a little off in the picture but that is because i bent the brake line a little to much...It took me maybe 10 secs to fix it. The downfall to this way is that the flexible aluminum piece finally gave out and actually kinked and broke.



Now my 3rd way:

All i need to do is take out that aluminum tubing and replace it with a 1 foot piece of 3an braided stainless steel hose and I will be set to go. No braking of lines or anything, and I will be set to go.

Also if you guys need any other help with the nitrous stuff I might not be able to exactly everything but I have done my share of research on the topic.

You definitely want the "T" on the hood. Not at the firewall. It'll be easier/cleaner to run ONE line up to the hood (a moving object).

I have a 96 cobra hood. I ended up tossing the dual purge idea and went straight up the firewall, through the cowl. The ZEX purge is crazy. It'll drain a bottle fast. So now I rarely use it. Costs too much.
