So I'm sizing my pushrods. I bought the length checker. When I pulled off the first rocker arm I saw that the stock push rods were just a little off center (on the outside (headers side))
I adjusted the checker to be a littler shorter. I then painted the valve stem with a pencil, rotated the engine around once, pulled off the rocker arm, and found that the mark was right about in the center. Here's what's weird. The stock push rod is 6.25 (or about), but now I need a shorter one. When I check manufacturer's sites, it seems rare for a push rod to be less than 6.25. In fact I can't find any on Edelbrock's site, and I'm using Edelbrock heads.
Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
