I just installed a Zirgo 3300 cfm 16" electric fan in place of the factory clutch fan on my 92 GT. Now my car overheats! I figured that this should be plenty of air considering the flexalite electric fan only pulls 2800 cfm. Any suggestions???

How is it controlled? Also does the shroud sit against the radiator tightly?

It is controlled by a thermostat that turns it on at 180*. The fan is attached to the factory shroud and sits right up against the radiator... maybe a quarter inch off of it.

That 1/4 of an inch could hurt you. Air is most likely going to take the easiest route which would be at the 1/4 inch. I would try some weather stripping around the fan and have it pressing against the radiator and see if this helps some.

Also check your voltage at the alternator, battery, and at the fan to make sure your not getting a voltage drop anywhere. If your fan is only seeing 11 volts and your battery is 12.5-12.7, you have a wiring problem.
