puttin some neon's (not the car :| )under driver side dash board?

I really hate driving at night having the car all dark and such, so I have came to the conclusion that I am going to put some blue led's under the driver side dash so I can actually see my footwork...how would I go about doing this

Where can I purchase the led's and stuff?

You may find some LEDs at radio shack. Just to be sure, LEDs and neons are totally different things. Led's are "light emitting diodes", and the direction of flow of electricity through them is important. Although you may find 12V leds, most are not and will fry very quickly when powered by 12V.

If you want to do custom setup with actual leds, let me know, and I will tell you how to do it.

I have green neons underneath my dash for driver and passenger. You will need 2 neon tubes, probably 10" or 12" long. Street Glow is a great brand to go with. You can put them on a swtch, like I did and be able to turn them on and off whenever. The way I did it, which I think is easy is to pick up an "Add-A-Circuit" from Pep Boys. They are something like 8 dollars. You will then be able to hard wire the neon into any fuse that you wish, which is right under the driver's side dash as well. It is rather quite simple and looks awesome when done right and you can't see the tube in the day time. I never drive at night without the neon on anymore

Its not just for that I would just generally like more lightin in the car and I think it would look cool anyways...

so which way should I go, led's or neons?

how would I go about doing this

Neons will be easier and provide more evenly distributed light.

i was thinking of just getting a normal color light, like whats in your rear veiw mirror just so there is more light in the car.

i use to have neons in a pickup under the dash, people would kick the passenger one because it was a regular cab. If you really want them just go to wall mart buy neon tubes(like 8 each) and a switch and some wire its easy. If you get long neon tubes its gonna be too bright, leds will be harder and more expensive. But please dont let this lead to you buying windshield washer lights!

Regular ol' 12V bulbs are a lot easier to add than neons or LEDs, and can be operated from the interior illumination circuit so their brightness varies with the dash lights. Add a switch and you also have the option of turning them off. See http://members.cox.net/n0v8or/index.htm and select the footwell lighting link to see an installation. By adding a diode, you can have them come on at full brightness whenever a door is opened.
