Hi, I'm trying to help a friend put a 85 302 into a 66 Mustang and so far I see no mech fuel pump hole, Do I go with an electric pump. Also see the oil pan will not fit with back sump. Can I just swap pans or will I have to change pickups and pump? Thanks in advance for any light anyone could shed to this swap.

You will have to change the oil pan and pick up tube . It is set up for electric fuel pump only ,you can change the timing cover but remember the water pump is reverse flow now so if you keep the serpentine belt system you will need a reverse flow water pump again ,it can be converted to v belt with normal flow water pump .other than that it bolts in using the Mustang v8 mounts .
The distributor can be changed also but you will neet to retain the roller cam distridutor gear
