I hate the plastic interior in my mustang. It is soo uncomfortable and looks SOOO cheapp! I was thinking about putting synthetic leather trim on my doors, dash, center consol, and my custom 10" touch screen bezel. I was wondering what you guys think about it.
I want to use synthetic leather b/c it feels nice and it's as bad in warm weather like real leather is. I am also thinking about putting so kind of cushion between the plastic and the leather to make it more comfortable, like memory foam or suggestions on that would be very nice too.
I have seen it done in a corvette and I know i said I was thinking about selling my cobra for a corvette but i'm keeping the cobra and just buying the corvette. I was also thinking about replacing my racing seats and putting in some leather seats and any suggestions on that would help too.

You can buy foam backed vinyl in a variety of different colors, grains, density, etc.
Just look for one that will contour easily without bunching up. It may take a couple tries so get some extra material.

I look forward to pics

You can get materials at Jo-Ann fabrics, Michael's hobby stores, etc. You can also do a yellow pages search for upholster supplies in your area.

I made door panel inserts to replace the map pockets, with an embossed LX emblem out dense foam and covered it with a synthetic leather. the synthetic was really nice for contours.

Yeah..
I did google some stuff. I can't really find anything at all about it which sucks =[. but kool because that means it isn't a very common thing people do to their car. I did see one site that makes custom full leather interior for corvettes but that was about it and that is the same excat thing I want to do but I want to put padding between it and the plastic.
Any ideas about materials wut help soo much.
